Did you know that the new Government has made a major commitment to 'talking therapies' including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, better known as CBT? In the recently published Green Paper on Health the Government is to ensure greater access to these kinds of therapies to reduce long term NHS costs and to promote better public health.
This is significant to the private sector also; it confirms that our strategies are the right ones in terms of helping business and organisations deal with problems that in both the short and long term are costing them money.
The right approach is to be proactive...we can help organisations to RISK ASSESS their workplace and workforce, and where stress exists we can measure it, and provide an action plan to deal with it.
We use the Health and Safety Executive guidelines and best practice. We adhere to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for professional practice.
There is evidence that CBT delivered in a range of settings is effective at improving disorders that are stress related, such as Irritable Bowel Disorder (IBS), depression, and other mental health disorders, and addressing factors with high morbidity including smoking, poor diet, alcohol and substance misuse.
CBT is seen to be important in changing the behaviours that help cause these kinds of problems.

Critical Incident Stress Management
Traumatic incidents can happen to anyone at anytime. Suddenly we may be faced with an accident at work, travelling to and from work, or even at home. Larger scale incidents may also affect us, natural or ones initiated by others. Whatever the cause or nature of the incident, it is normal for people caught up in it to experience reactions that range from minimal reaction to major reaction that can move on to become alarming and distressing for all involved. Sometimes these reactions, if not managed well can lead to lengthy and troublesome problems that can incapacitate individuals and dramatically affect workforces. Therefore expert leadership and management of these events is vital.
Our aim is to help mitigate the impact of trauma - facilitate the recovery process with individuals and business - restore function quickly as possible - identify where help is needed and act on it.
