Occupational Health has not always been given the fullest attention it deserves, particularly in small and medium size companies. As a result, according to a recent CBI survey, sickness absence is costing £495 per employee per year and the indirect costs of lost productivity can be double that figure. For example, for a workforce of 100, the annual cost to that business can be at least £50,000 per year.
